Researchers spent many hours watching and filming domestic cats in a Los Angeles cat cafe, and they determined that the felines can conjure nearly 300 facial expressions. The research is published in the journal Behavioural Processes.
A study out of the University of Michigan finds that seniors who live with pets for five or more years have better cognitive memory than those who live without furry roommates. The researchers point out that their findings show correlation, not necessarily causation, but the case for cause is strong.

The highly respected Polish Academy of Sciences has declared the domestic cat an “invasive alien species,” citing the cheeky pet’s propensity for murdering birds and small mammals.
